Ultimately

The Mike Gugliulmucci fall has hurt a lot of people.  I just wanted to address what needs to happen in you ultimately.

- Ultimately you need to get through it and grow because of it.

- Ultimately you need to forgive him/them

- Ultimately you need to take responsibility for your response (inc. actions, thoughts, blog posts etc).

- Ultimately your relationship with God needs to deepen through it.

- Ultimately you will be responsible for what you did, what you said, your attitude, your bitterness or your forgiveness, how you helped others get through it or whether you helped bitterness develop in them.

Hebrews 12:15 warns us that the root of bitterness can cause the grace of God to be choked off, we become defiled and miss it.

His family are saying this began when he was 12 that he became ill. And they are also saying this is when his addiction began. What happened to a 12 year old boy to make him so ashamed as to vomit and be unable to speak to his Dad about what was going on? Somewhere, or someone, opened a door that let some floodgates in on a child who was seen to have great potential. At the age of 12 the “silent illness of pornography” took hold and tore apart the heart of this young boy. His shame grew and with it his addiction. And as each day passed the cover up grew slowly day by day.

I am sad that he didn’t have someone to feel safe with those days of despair and guilt.

If we have any understanding of our own hearts when it comes to our sinful nature, then we cannot point the finger, but, knowing we are dust, pray NOW for him so he can confess and let the “poison” out. And pray for those who are hurting from this.

I pray for healing from this deception and shame in his life and pray it is a wake-up call for us. For the need for children to have relationship with their parent/s. Where they have freedom and space/time to be open and loved for who they are. And secure enough to talk when things hit the fan.

The enemy is wanting and has gotten enough mileage from this. I pray Michael’s chains will eventually be cut free to a new life and there is healing for us all. It is another example of where we need to discern and take home what Jesus is speaking to us from a particular speaker, and leave the rest.
